Calabasas OneCareNow Event Takes It to the Streets

Our Calabasas OneCareNow Event on October 7, 2006, was a big success! We chose to march in the middle of the Saturday afternoon traffiic, with cars and pedestrians everywhere trying to get to the farmer's market and the Calabasas Commons. We rallied at the Commons and John Glass drove his '69 Mustang convertible with Sharon Stevens perched in the back seat leading the march. We carried the OneCareNow.org banner high and it was seen by everyone who passed by. We got appreciative 'honks' and handed out flyers along the way.

At the end of the march, the group assembled at the historic Sagebrush Cantina where we held a screening of our "Healthcare Solution" DVD. Viewers gained a new appreciation for single-payer health insurance, and we converted some new activists to the cause. There was ample opportunity after the screening to answer questions and have a lively discussion about the strategy for getting the new bill passed in the next session of the legislature.
