We set up outside a Barnes and Noble bookstore on the parking lot side of the Montclair Shopping Center. There was a Starbuck's inside the store, and we hoped to see much foot traffic. Our table setup was much as before, with OneCareNow banners on opposite sides of the table so that they would be visible from the sidewalk on one side and from cars as they drove by on the other.

A woman who had lived in Germany for some years told us of her positive experience with their state-run health care system. A woman who had been flooded out by Katrina told us of the difficulties she experienced there and the health care challenges her mother faced here in California. A relatively small proportion of those who stopped agreed to sign the petition; some may have subsequently signed on-line. Many more were interested in the concept of single-payer, promised to read our material, and to pass it on to others.
