The turnout was great, with 78 people divided among the various
intersections. HCA members and members from endorsing organizations such as the Live Oak Unitarians, League of Women Voters, SEIU Local 620, Santa Barbara Progressive Democrats, and the Santa Barbara Women's Political Committee participated.

We received TV coverage from both our ABC (KEYT) and NBC (KSBY)
affiliate local TV channels , had photos in the News Press and photos
and a well written story in the Goleta Daily Sound, and may have photos and a story in the Alternative weekly Santa Barbara Independent. A press release at the beginning of the week, and follow-up phone calls to the press helped get the coverage. A press packet was left with "captains" at each intersection to pass on to any press persons who might show up.

The response from the motorists was mostly friendly, with lots of horn
honks, waves and thumbs up. A great time was had by all.
