The Unitarian Society continued its long-standing tradition of hosting and facilitating meetings and training sessions for HCA Santa Barbara by allowing us to use Blakesly Lounge for our advocacy training session. Twenty people, inclusive of the presenters, attended. There were several new faces in addition to members and continuing supporters.

Shown standing are Carole Marks and Laura Morgan. A brief description of legislation other than the Kuehl Bill (SB 840) gave the participants insight into the fundamental differences between incrementally building on the current broken system and the real reform as embodied in SB 840. A teacher who attended, Diane Roth, has joined HCA, and is providing us with a link to the local Teacher Association groups.
