On June 11, Governor Schwarzenegger tried to sneak into Chico for what he was calling a "town hall" meeting to convince seniors that his idea of health care reform is a good one. Word got out though and over 50 SB 840 activists were there on a 93 degree day to make sure that the specially selected invitees from the local Chamber of Commerce, Parent Teacher Association and hand-picked AARP guests received information about the REAL health care solution for Californians, SB 840.

We also told them about AARP's real agenda in the health care debate. AARP makes millions of dollars selling health insurance to seniors. AARP and the insurance industry are working together to defeat any legislation that would limit the profits of health insurance companies. Journalists from the Wall Street Journal and the Los Angeles Times interviewd some of the activists.
