SICKO-Sick-in in Santa Barbara at the Arlington Theater
Joined by doctors, nurses, our allies from CSEA, CTA, Move ON and several other organizations, HCA members staged a "Sick-in" at the premier of Michael Moore's documentary SiCKO. We handed out fliers with tear off postcards urging our elected officials in Sacramento to pass and sign SB 840. The response by the moviegoers, who loved the movie, was fantastic.
Real physicians and faux patients created a dramatic and colorful tableau for arriving theater-goers.
The idea of the Sick-in as part of our leafletting was the creative idea of Steve Sherrill, seen here talking with Lauren Herrera.
